The Professor Meyer H. Birnboim Endowed Lecture Series at Rensselaer honors the many contributions of Professor Meyer H. Birnboim in his major fields of interest, namely rheology and optics. Dr. Birnboim was a scientist, an engineer, and a problem solver who deeply cared about fundamental understanding of materials and their applications to solving modern problems. The endowment established through the generosity of the Birnboim family supports the Prof. Meyer H. Birnboim Endowed Lecture in Rheology (in the Department of Chemical Engineering) and the Meyer H. Birnboim Endowed Lecture in Optics (in the Department of Physics) in alternating years, thus honoring his important contributions to both fields.
